The Talmud explains the miracle of Chanukah was the longevity of the oil. Yet, the additional prayer we insert into both the Grace After Meals & the Amida (standing prayer), called Al Hanissim only mentions the military victory. Why? Military victories require a praise, hence Al HaNissim was written for this. The Chag/Festival was instituted due to the miracle of the oil. Why did they only use 1 cruse of oil when they had many more available?
